Can a Cadet receive email while at training?
No.
Official email may be received at AT@militarycadets.org. So as to reduce homesickness, Cadets will not be permitted to send or receive email while at AT. However, periodical email updates will be sent to those parents who have subscribed to the ACA-NET. Due to time limitations, individual emails will not be provided. Can a Cadet make or receive telephone calls?
Cadets attending Basic Cadet Training (BCT) will not be permitted to make telephone calls except upon arrival and within two days of graduation. In case of emergency, the Base Security office may be reached 24 hours a day at a duty number which will be provided to all Cadets and Recruits approximately two weeks prior to the start of training.
What does a Cadet do while at Summer Training?
The activities are fast-paced, challenging and motivating. Cadets will participate in:
From time to time, certain training activities may be canceled due to the needs of the Army, or as a result of safety or weather conditions.
What are the requirements?
Applicants for Summer Training must be age 13 or above (no exceptions); physically qualified; and capable of passing the ACA Minimum Physical Fitness Standards. All Cadets must be interviewed, have a valid physical utilizing ACAFORM 23, and be motivated for the program.
What if I'm not very physically fit?
All Cadets will receive a Physical Examination Verification upon reporting to training to ensure their physical qualification for the rigors of AT. Cadets found to be physically disqualified, or requiring medications which have not been previously approved, will be immediately returned home at the parents expense, with no refund of training fees.
All Cadets will be administered the ACA Physical Fitness Test (PFT) upon reporting to training. Those who cannot meet the ACA Minimum Physical Fitness Standards, will be given remedial physical fitness instruction. Further, the PFT will be administered no less than two times each week during all training programs. To graduate from Basic Cadet Training (BCT), a Cadet must complete the Minimum Physical Fitness Standards.
Are medications disqualifying?
It depends. Certain medications are disqualifying, most are not. All medications must be disclosed during the application process. Your medications will be reviewed by our Office of Health Services, and a case by case decision will be made.
First, you must join the ITC. That requires that you complete the following forms:
ITC PACKAGE - All forms fill in the blank and in one file.
Second, you must apply by sending the above forms, along with a non-refundable deposit check of $800 and a 3 x 5 color photo, full-length, in shorts and a T-Shirt (this is to help assess a Prospective Cadet's physical condition). The application will be reviewed for completeness and eligibility. Incomplete documentation may result in your application not being accepted. No more than 100 ITC Cadets will be accepted to Summer Training this year.

How do I get to Fort A.P. Hill?
Cadets and their parents are responsible for transportation
to and from Fort A.P. Hill. The Commanding Officer, Annual Training Unit, will
provide transportation from the International Airport to Fort A.P. Hill
upon written request submitted not later than 01 June 2007. A $75
additional fee per Cadet will be assessed to permit ground transportation
between the airport and Fort A.P. Hill and
return.
Will we graduate in a formal Ceremony?
Yes. Formal graduation ceremonies for Annual Training will be held
on the 27th of July at 1400. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend.
