Basic Cadet Training + Cadet Ranger School
The option of attending both Basic Cadet Training and Cadet Ranger School has a minimum age of 15 years old. If a young person attends just Basic Cadet Training this summer and returns for Cadet Ranger School
then the minumum age requirement is 14 years old.
Our Basic Cadet Training plus Cadet Ranger school spans a total of 5 weeks, the first two weeks being Basic Cadet Training and the following three weeks being our Cadet Ranger School. During the second week of BCT
a recruit will attend additional classes to prepare for Cadet Ranger School which serve to both prepare and to evaluate a recruit's progress and to determine whether or not they are ready for the rigors involved in Cadet Ranger School. If during the evaluation process it is decided that a recruit is not ready to go through Cadet Ranger School then that recruit after graduation from BCT will continue into our Basic Leader Course and TACMAP.
Our Basic Cadet Training is intended to have a "boot camp" atmosphere about it, young people who attend this 5-week course will notice that after the transition from BCT to CRS that the "feel" will change. CRS is going to be a true challenge and a lot will be expected of those attending it, the discipline level will be high, but the atmosphere won't be the same as BCT, it will be even tougher.
Going through both of these courses in a single summer is a great oppurtunity for a young person who is looking for a serious challenge.
