What are the requirements to attend? The biggest requirement for attending Military Adventure Camp is for a young person to be a willing participant, we are not a correctional camp. We serve young men and women ages 13-18, with some waviers for 12 year olds. As long as you are still attending High School you are eligible age-wise.

Our camp is primarily made up of American citizens, but that is not a requirement. Any non-US citizens need to contact the Admission's Officer directly prior to enrollment to find out specifics on what paperwork we will need.

All attendees must be in at least decent physical shape upon arrival. Being an Olympic-class athlete is not necessary, but being able to run a mile is or at least have the motivation to try, we'll make sure you can do it by the end of the course.

Where are you located at?

Our campus is the National Cadet Training Center, which is located in the town of Millersburg, KY a small town north of Lexington, KY. Our campus is the former location of the Millersburg Military Institure, a private military school which closed in 2006. To learn more about our campus and its history click here.

Do you have any grants or scholarships? We do not currently offer any grants or scholarships. Though we do offer a few select discounts. In the past a few young people have been sponsered by their local veteran's organization (VFW, American Legion, etc...) This is something the young person and thier family must pursue, the Admissions Officer can not give you assisstance in this.

How many people attend your camps? Each of our programs will have around 100-150 attendees, though that number will fluctuate from course to course. We can have up to 250 young people going through a camp at any given time. We fill up quickly, so don't wait to enroll.

A friend and I are going to join together, can you make sure we stay in the same room? Before that question can be answered you have to understand the structure of our programs. In each course the young people are split into platoons of 40-50, which are then divided into squads of 6-10, and then each recruit/Cadet is paired up with another young person which is their "Battle Buddy". They are with their "Buddy" at all times, and bunk together.

I can make sure that two friends are placed in the same platoon, and possibly in the same squad, but not as "Battle Buddies". That would defeat the purpose of learning to get along, and work with someone you are not familiar with.

How realistic are your programs? As realistic as you are going to find that doesn't involve an oath and a four year committment.

We design our courses based on those of the U.S. Army, and get as close as we can while staying safe and being aware that we are working with teenagers. The programs are challenging, and introduce to young people the same skills and values as the real thing.

I take medications, am I still eligible?

We will need to know what the medication is before making that determination. Most ADHD medications are fine, though if possible we'd prefer that the young person not take them during our courses.

Severe asthma is a disqualifier, as well as any mind-altering medications such as lithium.

All medications must be listed on the medical history and examination form, with acknowledgement by the doctor who by signing off on the physical states that the young person will be able to participate in our camp while on the medication.

All medication will remain in the custody on our medical staff during the camp.
